Robert Carl Harig was born on August 29, 1927 to Otto and Anna (Andre) Harig in Hollandale, MN. Robert lived in Minnesota his entire life, attending school in Hollandale and then Alden. Robert served in the United States Army during WWII. On May 19, 1951 Robert was united in marriage to Marlys Braund in Blue Earth, MN. The couple lived on the same farm for 56 years. Robert served faithfully as clerk for the Mansfield Township Board for many years. He was a member of St. Theodore�s Catholic Church in Albert Lea, the Eagles, American Legion and a lifetime member of the DAV.

Survivors include children, Lonnie (Lynda) Harig of Emmons, Mark (Trudy) Harig of Albert Lea, Robin (Glaydon) Grunhovd of Lake Mills, IA, Bradley (Gayle) Harig of Emmons and Gary (Donna) Harig of Lake Mills, IA; grandchildren, Randy Harig, Janelle (Loren) Sorenson, and Chad Harig, Michelle (Jason) Kluender, Jessica Selvidge, Elizabeth, Sarah, Matthew and Merrick Harig, and Jacqueline (Josh) Imler; great-grandchildren, Sierra Selvidge, Samuel Harig, Maraya Harig, Brennan and Katelyn Kluender, Josiah Selvidge, Delaney Imler and Addison Harig; sister-in-law, Reta Harig of Isaquah, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlys; daughter, Kristi Geralyn Harig in 1980; brothers, Leo, Edward, Howard and Harold; sisters, Theresa (Melvin) Christensen, Adelaide (Clarence) Wangsness, Mary (Earl) Kaushagen, Helen (Fay) Emstad and Rosella Weber; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
